Intelligent Influence 360 Assessment (I2360)

Every successful person and organization consciously or intuitively utilizes the four-step Intelligent Influence process to achieve their goals.  However, most people do not know this secret of success.

The manner in which a leader influences others is more important than what they actually do.  Traditional evaluation systems are often ineffective because they overlook a leader’s influence strengths and weaknesses.  In studying the power of influence I have learned that “a leader’s success is primarily determined by the manner that he or she influences others.”

I developed the Intelligent Influence 360 or “I2360” Assessment to fill the evaluation process void and help leaders understand their influence strengths and weaknesses.  This amazing evaluation tool will help them, in a non-confrontational way, make the adjustments necessary to become more effective and productive leaders.  The tool is built around the four-step Intelligent Influence framework described below:

Step 1 of the process is called Influence Awareness.  This step entails understanding how a leader has been influenced to do what they do in the way that they do it.

Step 2 is called Influence Impact.  This step entails assessing a leader’s influence strengths and weaknesses.

Step 3 is called Influence Management. This step entails identifying the influences a leader needs to overcome their influence weaknesses and achieve their personal, professional and organization goals.

Step 4 is called Influence Maximization.  This final step entails using information gathered from the other three steps to establish the type of Credibility, Creativity and Connection necessary to influence anyone, in any way at any time.

The I2360 Assessment process is easy to implement.  The leader is asked a series of questions that enables them to assess how effectively they think that they are influencing others. At the same time, the leader’s boss, co-workers and direct reports answer questions that will help them assess the leader’s influence effectiveness and recommend ways in which the leader could more effectively influence others.

Once the assessments are completed, the leader’s boss, the human resources department or their executive coach will help him or her use the constructive feedback to enhance their influence and success as a leader.

The I2360 Assessment can significantly improve a person’s effectiveness as a leader and transform the culture of an organization when multiple leaders go through this process.  I hope that you will consider utilizing this powerful tool to enhance the success of your organization. We work closely with clients to ensure that the cost of the I2360 Assessment is within their budget and provides a significant return on your investment.

Effective Empathy: The Secret of Minimizing School Board Conflict

There are more than 14,000 public school districts and 70,000 school board members in the United States. Most school board members and administrators try to do everything that they can to improve the quality of education provided to students in their district. They are focused on setting effective policy, approving an appropriate budget and hiring the best superintendent possible. However, some school boards are handicapped by conflict. They suffer from public and private disagreements, constant bickering, holding grudges and arguing frequently. Research suggests that public school boards in conflict ignore many of the needs of the district they are supposed to be leading. Unhealthy school board relationships lead to ineffective policies, mediocre administrative leadership, inadequate teaching and poor student academic performance. School board and administrator conflict comes about because of the inability or reluctance of members to reach an agreement about controversial issues...

Intelligent Influence in Career Management

I have been amazed by the many positive comments about the TEDx speech I gave several years ago in Princeton called “ Intelligent Influence .” This talk focused on one of the most important words in the world that, amazingly, is “hidden in plain sight.” The word “ Influence ” is used in conversations virtually every day by millions of people around the world who have not taken the time to understand the meaning and potential of this very powerful concept. I believe that positive strategic influence is the secret to leadership and organizational success in today’s complicated business environment. My research on influence led me to develop a concept called Intelligent Influence ® that is tailor-made for the business (and human interaction) realities of the 21 st century. This unique leadership and strategy framework, which consists of four components, has the potential to change how people interact (especially in the business world). This approach has been so well received t...
